The 45th Annual Santa Cruz Pride event will certainly go down in history as one of the greatest!
There was an incredible amount of energy and excitement to celebrate the diversity in our community. The pageantry and inclusive atmosphere was contagious. In a time when our rights are under attack, it was uplifting to gather in strength and solidarity on a beautiful day!
This year’s grand marshals included activist, musician, and founder of Queer Cruz Vynes Dowling, and Cabrillo College trustee Adam Spickler (and former Diversity Center Board President), who in 2018 became the first transgender man in California to win elected office. Santa Cruz Pride is a fiscally sponsored project of the Diversity Center. The amazing day is put together by a dedicated and talented group of volunteers. Thank you to the Santa Cruz Pride Committee for their work and leadership!
