Contra Dance is a community dance with a Caller and live Band. The Caller teaches and prompts each move during the dance. This Caller will be using gender-neutral dance role terms: Larks/Ravens. Larks=Left person, Ravens=Right person. Contra is similar to Square dance, but in long lines instead. The music is typically Irish Jigs and Reels or Old-Time music. The Caller tonight is Claire Takemori, the band is Battle Mountain String Band.
