Working to Eliminate Fear and Bias
At this very moment LGBTQ+ (lesbian, gay, bi, trans, queer and ally) volunteers may be leaving their jobs or homes for one of hundreds of events where they will have an honest, heart-felt talk with a group of total strangers.
Their experience of overcoming adversity: the joys and the struggles, the fear and the love, the highs and the lows is what makes these panels impactful. This is the Diversity Center's Triangle Speakers Program.
At Triangle Speakers we work to eliminate fear, prejudice, and hatred towards LGBTQ+ people so that a healthy environment exists where all members of our community can thrive and live full and healthy lives.
Hundreds of speakers have shared their incredible human stories of triumph and hope to thousands of people along the Central Coast for over 22 years. This educational speakers’ bureau is one of the most important ways we have been breaking down barriers throughout Santa Cruz County for decades.
Interested in hosting a panel?
For years, churches, schools, civic organizations, places of worship, businesses and government agencies, have been regularly hosting Triangle Speakers panels. Whether they feel it’s important to open their hearts and minds to a different perspective on life or whether they are driven to sensitize and educate staff, all find the experience of hosting a panel to be an enriching one.
