Dia De Los Muertos

Sunday, November 1

5:00 – 7:00pm

The Diversity Center

1117 Soquel Ave, Santa Cruz

Día de los Muertos (Day of the Dead) is a traditional Mexican celebration that honors family and friends who have passed away.  The Diversity Center will have a community altar on display to honor our departed loved ones as well as honor departed LGBT Latino historical figures.  Bring items that a traveling spirit can use like soap, cigarettes or food or bring pictures, candles, cards, flowers, or any other offering that the deceased may enjoy.

Join us for a community gathering honoring our departed loved ones.  We encourage you to bring offerings to our altar and food to share. Enjoy delicious food and warm drinks made to nourish and warm the spirits!  Make sugar skulls, papel picado, and marigolds - traditional Mexican ornamental treats enjoyed by the families of the deceased as well as placed on the altar as an offering.
