History

In October 2006, a “Day of Dialogue” was held with 75 leaders from the LGBT and broader community. The event was designed to help community members reflect, discuss, and plan a positive future for LGBT people in Santa Cruz County. It was organized by the Diversity Partnership Committee of the Community Foundation of Santa Cruz County.

By the end of the “Day of Dialogue”, a shared and practical “2011 Vision” was articulated for a safe, empowered and inclusive community environment for all LGBT people throughout the county. A LGBT “Leadership Council” was formed to keep the “2011 Vision” alive and on-track.
