The 60Plus Senior Program Still Growing After 15 Years!

From its humble beginnings at the Brookvale Terrace community room in Capitola, the 60Plus Senior Program has grown into a flourishing, vibrant, and critical part of the Diversity Center's program line up. It was created to address the need for connection and reduce social isolation.

During the past year, the 60Plus Senior Program has served 743 of our community's LGBTQ+ older adults through bi-monthly luncheons, women's and men's socials, Santa Cruz Pride participation, and two sessions of the W.I.S.E. (Wellness Initiative for Senior Education) curriculum. In addition, 98.9% of our seniors surveyed found great value in the program offerings, and 95.4% have met new friends or acquaintances.

As our community's LGBTQ+ senior population continues to grow, the 60Plus Senior Program remains committed to ensuring their needs are identified, addressed, and met!
